Born American and having married into a Canadian family, the period from the 1st of July to the 4th is a whirlwind of joyous celebrations for me. It’s a time when the air is thick with anticipation, filled with the aroma of grilled delights, echoing with bursts of colorful fireworks that dance across the night sky. This year, as I stand on the pier at the City of Portofino, California, I’m reminded of the beauty of blending traditions and the warmth of shared moments with loved ones, making every summer memory vibrant and cherished.
